Calm before the storm

Hi world!

This is an outfit I shooted some days before the tragedy! I'm talking about a bad inundation in my city. Fortunately the area where I lived wasn't hit by this inundation, there was only a lot of wind and huge waves in the sea. I will talk about it better in another post; this post is too much frivolous to talk about such a serious topic!

Style Icon: Miroslava Duma

I'm sure you all know who Miroslava Duma is! She's a beautiful Russian woman, mum, great fashionista, freelancer writer and ex- editor for Harper's Bazar Russia. 

I find her so gorgeous, she has great style, neither too eccentric nor trite. And her face is also so pretty, she's a doll! I want to show you some of her outfits that I prefer :)

Today I'd like to talk you about another Autumn-Winter 2011/2012 trend: chelsea boots! 

Originally they were used for horse riding during Victorian era, so strange but true, they have a long story! They are often associated with the 60s British mood scene and they are predecessors of the famous Beatle boots worn, of course, by Beatles. 

They are tight-fitting ankle boots with elastic on the side, for this reason they are really comfortable and easy to put on on and put off. 

Before they were worn especially by men, but now this trend is becoming unisex; women wear chelsea boots with heels or wedges, with animal prints, in suede or leather and even with glitters! This masculine type of shoes is capturing women's heart ( maybe it's better to say feet! ) and there's a wide choice of styles and materials!

Today I'd like to show you an outfit that I wore some days go for a walk; I had to walk all afternoon long so I opted for these ballerina flats. Unfortunately I'm really short so I know that these shoes make me look even shorter but I wanted to be comfortable so I thought they were the best option possible: nice and comfy! Then I decided to try pairing together two different colours of leather: red and black.

Did my experiment succeed or not? Let me know your opinions

Rock the trend: Mustard Everywhere

Today I want to talk about an other Autumn-Winter 2011/12 fashion trend: Mustard!

It's a warm colour that reminds us of falling leaves hues so it's perfect for this cold season.

Maybe a lot of you will find hard to wear this particular colour but there's a wide choise of hues, from the strongest to the softest, so don't forget to try every piece on ( I know it might be really boring) and decide which fits better with your skin tone.

Moreover, I would suggest you to pair this colour with warm colours as brown or dark orange. Personally I thought to try pairing mustard with a strong wine colour, what do you think?
